Put the Windows XP CD or the one that came with the computer, usually titled restoration CD, in the CD player. Restart the computer, and it will lead you step by step through it, including totally erasing and reformatting your hard drive, then installing Windows.

Depending on what version of windows you are using, say for example your using professional. set your PC to boot from CD (this is done via BIOS) and place your copy of WinXP into your CD drive, wait for it to load up (you will be brought through to the DOS version fo windows setup. hit ENTER to continue, then F8 to accept t&c. now if you already have a version of xp pro you have the option to repair it. you either hit R for yes or ESC to cancel. if you hit R. it will start the process of repairing windows and its straight forward from there, if you hit ESC hen you will be brought to the next step. here you can either delete your partition and start again from scratch or you can put windows on the existing partition, if you WANT to format and start again i recommend that you hit enter here then when the options appear to format it with NTFS(quick), format with NTFS or leave current settings - i would personally go with "Format with NTFs (quick) " option, then once an selection is made - it will format and start to install windows - Just like that. sit back and watch - not forgetting when the time comes to put in your user name and product key etc. (good luck)
