Is Vizio a good brand plasma television?

It's considered a bargain or discount brand. The brands that I would consider good for a plasma or LCD TV are Philips, Sony, Pioneer, Panasonic, LG, Sharp, Samsung and Toshiba. There are probably a couple others that are missing but those are the big names in plasma and LCD monitors. Vizio is a discount brand that usually sells for a couple hundred dollars below the above brands. I've seen Vizio displays in stores and the images look good. You'll probably be okay if you buy it from a reputable store.

Incidentally, I've had a Westinghouse 27-inch LCD HDTV monitor for more than 2.5 years and it has worked great. No complaints except for an occasionally balky remote control.
