The person who said Alcatraz should not be visited made a mistake. It's a really fun place. I live in the east bay near san francisco and I really enjoyed the tours on the island. A walk in Golden Gate park is really nice and underated. You have to visit the Japanese Tea Garden - its really a great place and a mix of tourists and locals go there. The new DeYoung Art Musuem has been completed but I'm not into art so I haven't been there yet. The Asian Art Museum and the Academy of Sciences are great but they are currently being eathqauked proofed at their original locations and are in smaller building in the market street area. Even if your not into sports, SBC Park in SF is a very great place to enjoy a day becuase of the Gilroy Garlic Fries and Barry Bonds *(The Paula Abdul man). You can go to Pier 39 and see the Seal Lions and get startled by the Bush man (not W but a guy who plays with tourists and hides behind a plant. He's friendly though). Also, the underwater aqquirm thing in Pier 39 (not to be confused with Stienhardt Aqaruim or the Monterey Bay Aqquruim 90 miles south) is kind of a tourist trap. Have a meal in Chinatown or north beach. Take a ferry to go whale watching or to Angel Island. The only thing is: Stay OUT OF THE TENDERLOIN and Espcially (I emphisise this) the BAYVIEW-HUNTERS Point area (the neighborhood north of Candlestick Park).

I HELLBENT the lesbian would LOVE to have a "fabulous" Gay Pride Parade instead of a Christmas Parade (too Christian and excluding) in every city of America.
Rainbow is so much prettier than red and green - where did they come up with those colors anyway?

No more than it would have become 1938 Berlin if the Republicans won.

While I LOVE San Fran and have been there a half dozen times - I just don't need to see men in chaps with their naked butts hanging out in my city ... so I hope not.

You sound like you're worried you might convert.
I'm actually quite secure and am not worried at all. Why is it you're not?
