I have a 3 1/2 month old and my pediatrician recommends 1 teaspoon of dark Karo Syrup to 4 ounces of water for constipation. Do not give them more than one 4 ounce bottle of this in a 24 hour period.
FYI, my pediatrician had me doing this for my daughter when she was only a few weeks old, but then I would just spread out the 4 ounces throughout the day and only give her an ounce at a time.
Here's a link to an article about giving your baby Karo Syrup and water for constipation: http://www.drgreene.com/21_1953.html

In a 4 oz. bottle I always did about a teaspoon maybe a teaspoon and a half. But do it in warm water not formula, the water will help also. And you don't want your baby to reject the formula later on because the karo isn't there changing the taste of it. That way he or she doesn't get confused, and you won't have any feeding problems.

Yes, you can give the baby white Karo syrup for constipation. It only takes a small amount and should be mixed with water.

only use maybe 1/2 teaspoon for 4 oz bottle. And keep in mind to only use karo syrup because it is a lot better for babies tummy then honey or actual syrup. My pediatrician recommends it and also I saw the upper part saying to use prune juice but prune juice could have bacteria in it that is harder to digest then karo syrup.

Use a teaspoon of Karo syrup in the bottle. If the constipation continues, then seek medical attention. Thank you.

NONE!!!! Why are you putting Karo syrup in a bottle of formula??? If your baby is constipated, talk with your doctor about safe remedies. A tiny bit of 100% prune juice or apple juice watered down is far better than giving your infant corn syrup.
PEOPLE -- CORN SYRUP is HIGHLY PROCESSED sugar. Do you REALLY want to give that to a baby??? There are natural forms of sugar found in 100% fruit juice that are far more healthy for an infant. Nothing wrong with home remedies, but at least use your head about the choices you make. Why use highly processed sugar when you can choose a NATURAL form of sugar that works just as well???

Don't give Karo, it's not good for the baby, if it's constipation your trying to solve then feed pears or prunes if solids have been introduced otherwise wait it out and if it doesn't resolve on its own contact your pediatrician.

It's good to see some mothers using home remedies instead of running to the dr every 5 seconds!!!! In a 4oz. you would use about a 1/2 tsp or less to start out with, ya don't wanna give them a sugar buzz.....

Just a very little I would say 1/2 teaspoon. That's all it takes.
By the way my friends pediatrician told her to do this last week so I don't know the reason why pediatricians have stopped telling people to do this???

none. The formula has everything in it your baby needs. If you don't believe thats enough, call your pediatrician for advice before you do anything else.
