Just be straight and honest with him and tell him that it bothers you. Also tell him how silly it is for him to be so negative about a country (Ours) yet be so caught up in it at the same time. I mean he has a American gf!

You should not fear approaching him... he obviously has no fear of expressing himself to you. A relationship is a two way street ya know! I would tell him that you are worn by his constant comparisons and feel he does not enjoy the country he is in. Is he making criticisms or just noting how different everything is? (there is a big difference) If he just came here this may wear off anyway.
Tell him what you told us-- you are content. (Why is he here anyway??) Just tell him you know he is in a different evironment, but ask him to just **enjoy** rather than compare all the time good times and memories you are making together.

Make him watch the movie " MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING"
Very nice movie which brings together 2 different cultures.
Talk to him, bring him to really cool places. Show him around with friends and relatives.
Keep doing some activities.
Don't get irritated when he grumbles, as u meantioned, he is home sick. Only time can heal that. Be understanding, each time he grumbles be supportive and say things like " we would go back there someday".
He is clearly trying to adjust and i know about home sick! Give him some time to get used to everything.

A lot of Greek men are constant complainers (including myself - although that has been tempered recently). I would try to validate his feelings and take him to a Greek Orthodox church somewhere where he will feel at home for 2 hours. Once he sees that America has some elements of his homeland, the complaining will decrease.

It is hard to tell you what to do cause you do not want to fight about it and if he is so strong about it to talk about to the point it drives you crazy then you do have a problem First you need to tell him that you understand that you do not agree what is going on with the 2 states and you may fell it is good for you to talk about it but you are burning out all of your energy and you would like to talk about the good thing of life like you and I and what we have to offer to each other and so on. if this doesn't help you can get some counselling cause if you really want to know the truth this is how people stop wanting to be with each other and divorce happens so it is good that you are speaking out so find away. Good luck you will know what to do.

maybe you could plan a trip to visit greece with him and see what he really loves about greece. then maybe find some of those things that he loves in the states. with the US as large as it is, im sure you are bound to find some areas that could remind him of home. and if he keeps grumbling about the political system of the US then you could always tell him that theres nothing you can do about that.

i think that you should take him to a place that reminds him of Greece then he might stop complaining about America. If you do this then you might not offend him and he'll go more often

Try to explain how disrespectful it is when he complains about your homeland. Ask him how he'd feel if you complained about Greece all the time. Tell him you value his opinion, but that you love your country and it's hurtful to hear someone insulting it all the time.

if your boyfriend came from greece and is always nagging about america of how he just hates or despises it then you and him should visit greece and bring back some souvenirs and put them around the house. and if he keeps on nagging about the diffrences of america and greece then you and him should just talk it out and decide if you and him are going to be together then
he needs to get his act together and if it helps hug him one good time and say "honey i love you and theirs is nothin in the world that will stop me from loving you. " then he will understand and maybe if that doesn't helps just have sex with him and make it a night he will never forget .that will get his mind off of greece and focused on you.

Ask him if he would like to visit Somalia sometime. Then I am sure he will stop complaining about your country.
