I broke a tooth last night and I'm dying this moring it hurts so bad, but can the dentist fix it like he would normally or can I even see him for something like this? I don't want to hurt the baby but I can't stand the pain, will he have to do a temporary fix, and if so is it safe?

Yes your dentist can fix it. Just because your pregnant doesnt mean you have to suffer. I had work done in the first trimester and the third with my last son. I had xrays done both times, took tylenol with coedine, had a root canal, and took antibiotics. They know what to do with pregnant women. JUst go so you can feel better and dont worry about the baby. I do know its hard not to worry, because I did, But everything turned out just fine. I have a healthy 3 year old running around here. ANd YES they can give you stuff to numb your mouth. ITs ok

Call your dentist. I know that they can't give you any thing to numb your mouth. You need to discuss with your dentist what is going on. The dentist will either be able to help you or send you to the hospital. Women when they are pregnant can not get certain things done because of the bacteria in your mouth. They don't want that going down your throat and to the baby. Good luck and GOD bless.

Yes, you can go to the dentist, HOWEVER he is limited on what to give you for any pain meds, or pain meds used during the procedure of fixing your tooth. I went to have some fillings put in when I was pregnant with my first daughter. The dentist had to drill into my tooth without me being given anything for pain. If you can take whatever s/he does, then go, but just be prepared for not being given anything for pain.

I needed feeling and they ask me for a doctor's clearance, they wont touch you until you get a letter from you ob since you need anesthesia and xrays which are not good during pregnancy. Ask your doctor what can you have done without hurting the baby. I decided to wait until I give birth

He can fix it. You can have local anesthetic when you are pregnant, just not dental X-rays, or painkillers. Go! Get your teeth fixed!!!
