I was a manager with Home Depot & was dismissed after only 2 months in U.S. for no apparent reason. I am a Canadian & need to go through Canadian courts . Details are many & will discuss with lawyer consultation. I do not have the money to go this alone so would like an aggressive lawyer to work on a % of selltlement that is fairly large.

If you were let go during your probationary period, there isnt much you can do. They actually have the right to let you go for virtually no reason during this time period.

I doubt you'll be able to address a US labor dispute in Canadian court, as the Canadian court has no jurisdiction in any US matter.

That said, you'd also do well to let us know what US state you were working in, as many US states have "at will" employment laws; that is, companies can hire and fire at will, and employees can hire on and leave at will.

Finally, you said, "I was a manager...& was dismissed...for no apparent reason." If there was no apparent reason (such as they dismissed you because you were pregnant, or because you needed to use a wheelchair, or something like that) your chances of getting a hearing, much less a judgement, are very small.

Sounds like a tough lesson on corporate loyalty to its employees - you might do better to just move on.

Better luck ahead. - Stuart
