Since you are the seller, the buyer won't know anything about you except the email address that you use for PayPal, whatever you have chosen to include on your Ebay sales page, and your return address if you write it on the package.

The buyer's local PD will probably not get involved. Jurisdiction needs to be established before local police can lawfully act, and this is difficult to prove for internet crimes. Paypay and Ebay are both very cooperative with fraud complaints, and will most likely refund your money. As far as the person actually getting charged, I think it is unlikely. Ebay and Paypal find it easier to just absorb the loss than to go thruough the time and cost to investigate. Ebay does allow you to rate the seller, but these crooks change their identity often. I would still make sure both Ebay and Paypal are aware of this person.

yes! The buyer does recieve a mailing address for where the item they are purchasing is coming from. Remember that the link for communication is the ebay email. Read on the ebay website for further information on this.
I have personally bought items on ebay. I get the address from the seller everytime.

As a buyer on Ebay I get very little information about the people I buy things from. Unless you send out your address that is not included in the bill from paypal.
Hope this helps. :)

For receiving payments you can raise an invoice through paypal. You need not intimate your details to anyone. Alternatively, you can give your Email ID that is with paypal to the payee. I can give you a link that deals with Payapl & Ebay transactions through Paypal. PayPal is one of the most popular online money transfer systems widely used for online auctions, pay to surf programs, e-books and purchase of low value goods. It is now a part of the online auction website eBay. More details available at

Paypal doesn't list much - email and town the item is shipping from, but when you mail the package, you have to put a return address on your package, so any buyer can get your home address from that return address.

PayPas does not give out personal information. Someone has to have your shipping address for the item you bought, though.
