Holly you're dreamin. There are several examples of Dems who responded negatively to the call for UNITY. I'm not personally offended at all. I put my country before myself. .. . . Maybe that's what you guys don't get. .

Rose and Holly seem to think that it's a Neo- Conservative agenda to Call For Unity. Thanks for letting us know where you stand. . ..or FALL.

United like the Republicans had for the past six years, is that what you mean? The democrats have taken control of the congress with the help of the republicans. Joe Lieberman would have lost if not for the republicans voting for him. Independents were the real key to put the dems in power, that and the fact the republicans pissed their own base off with their spending tax dollars like there is no tomorrow, and I'm sure their numerous scandals didn't help their cause either. Throw the reverend into the mix and you get change. America was tired of the united you are referring to and voted the bums out. End of story.

What are you talking about? I was in your last post and there was nothing divisive about any of those answers. All I saw were a couple of calls for working together and several people saying you're essentially full of crap. What is abhorrent about that? Or are you just insulted?
-I agree with Rose. Stop shoving your paranoia down our throats.
-bottles, you know what? If unity was really what you were after here you would not be insulting everyone trying to answer you. You also would have an open-mind and the ability to consider different points of view without immediately adding a defensive retalatory attack. Someone here does need to wake up and it isn't the answerers.

You Republicans have to do your part and stop your hatred towards Democrats which is very evident on this site. I don't see any efforts from Republicans to make peace with Democrats. I don't even see you guys taking responsibility for your part in the breakdown in civility. How many times have I seen Republicans accuse Democrats of hating America, or siding with terrrorists or questioning the morality of anyone who is Democrat? Too many to count. So pardon me if I don't take Republicans seriously when they talk about unifiying the country.

"To the victors the spoils.."However the democrats have shown much more magnanimity than 12 years of republican rule ever did.your question is based on a faulty assumption. The democratic party is the only inclusive party in the country. We accept straight as well as gay people we accept liberals, conservatives and moderates.
Our party leadership is made up of men, women gay and straight black white Latino and Jewish we do not accept people in the dark and shun them in the day. This is what a united country is,this is what America is all about.

As with Republican supporters, there are some democratic supporters who just like to stir up trouble. Look at some of the other Q & A's around here...it's everywhere, and it's not just the democrats.
Questions like this certainly don't help with unity, either.

The opinions expressed here represent a very tiny slice of the thinking in this country. You only get an overview of people who respond and thus the results can get skewed

As if the conservatives on this site aren't the most hypocritical thing since Rush Limbaugh? You all expect liberals to cowl down to you because you believe differently. Well guess what, liberals believe the same way. So screw off and stop trying to push your neo-conservative agenda on those who know what's good for them and their people.

Who's being the blind optimist now bottles?
Being united and holding hands across America and singing "we are one" would be nice but we aren't going to be united if you want us to adopt your standards.
The elections are about power. America decided the Republicans shouldn't have sole access any more because they abused their power.
