Well Here is the situation... I feel like a cold hearless person right now and with all the crappy things that have been going on in my life and the ones around me, I have not been able to cry. its odd this feeling that I need to express but alas nothing is really working. I have read some books, watched some movies (yeah nothing to schindler's list, not even Stand by me, and I have a father who thinks im **** too. I mean I was really sad but no tears!) so what Am I supposed to do? anything would be appreciated. I should say im not depressed right now, I'm actually content with where Im at in life, I have come so far, but I just wanna Cry. anything would be appreciated, movies, short stories, I dont have a lot of time to read (too many textbooks) but if its a page turner, maybe even a song or two. Please Help.

Steel Magnolias, My Girl (funeral part), Fox and the Hound, Step Mom (maybe), ummm....I can't think. I'm trying! Songs are good, too. 'What Hurts The Most' -Rascal Flatts, 'Tonight, I Wanna Cry' -Keith Urban, 'Wind Beneath My Wings' -Bette Midler, OH!! I GOT IT! 'Held' -Natalie Grant - that might do it! If none of these work - CUT AN ONION and do it again! Just kidding. Maybe you have a tear duct problem. Maybe start using Visine for Dry Eyes...Good luck. And be happy for all that you don't cry about! :)

Most mammals will produce tears in response to extreme pain or other stimuli, but crying as an emotional reaction is considered by many to be a uniquely human phenomenon, possibly due to humans' advanced self-awareness. Some studies suggest that elephants and gorillas may cry as well.
In nearly all cultures, crying is seen as a specific act associated with tears trickling down the cheeks and accompanied by characteristic sobbing sounds. Emotional triggers are most often anger and grief, but crying can also be triggered by sadness, joy, fear, humor, frustration, or other strongly-experienced emotions.
In many cultures, crying is associated with babies and children. Some cultures consider crying to be undignified and infantile, casting aspersion on those who cry publicly. In most cultures, it is more socially acceptable for women to cry in public than men.
An insincere display of grief or dishonest remorse is called crocodile tears, from the ancient anecdote that crocodiles would pretend to weep while luring or devouring their prey.
Many religions describe gods or prophets as crying:
* According to a hadith, the prophet Muhammad proclaimed: "This (tears) is an expression of the tenderness and compassion, which the Lord hath put into the hearts of His servants. The Lord doth not have compassion on and commiserate with His servants, except such as are tender and full of feeling."
* The shortest verse in the Bible (in the King James Version of the Bible and some other English translations) is simply: "Jesus wept."
* Jade is sometimes known as "tears of the Buddha".
* The Incas referred to silver as the "tears of the moon".
Some modern therapy movements such as Re-evaluation Counseling believe that crying is beneficial to health and mental wellbeing, and positively encourage it

There is a song Heaven with a little child talking through it. She sounds to be about 4 or 5 and her daddy has died and she is saying her prayers but talking to her daddy telling him about all she has done and how much she misses him. If that doesnt make you cry you have no soul at all. I have the song but I don't know how to get it to you. I could try e-mail.

If you want to cry, google the video for 'Time In A Bottle' by Jim Croce. It shows him and his 1 year old son enjoying an afternoon together...by the time his son was 2,Jim would be dead, having died in a plane crash.

Hmmm.,..when I want to cry, really cry, I listen to Josh Groban...."You Raise Me Up"....or another of his songs. I also may listen to "Home" by Michael Buble....Another Josh Groban song that makes me cry, is "Believe". or "You're Still You."
Also, another way to cry is to watch a movie that relates to the situation you are in. Last year, my husband and I split up for seven months, and after getting over the anger, I was able to watch movies that related to separation and could relate so well that I was able to cry while watching them (sometimes they made me more angry though:) )...Good Luck!

i would just wait...when you need to cry, it will come. when my dad killed himself, i couldn't cry right away. but when my body and mind were ready, i cried my eyes out. you feel shitty like you are wrong for not crying, but people are all different. it will happen. one day you might stub your toe, then cry for an hour. tears in heaven by Eric Clapton makes me cry when i think about the words of the song, and his little boy dieing
