These are attributes generally used for Windows system files.

"Read Only" means that the file cannot be changed, deleted, or written over. (except by Windows itself).

"Hidden" means that the file will not appear in a general list of files (like in Windows Explorer). This is to protect it from accidental damage by hiding it.

"Archive" means that Windows will make backup copies of this file as necessary.

Well it means the characteristics of the file as the systems grants the permission about accessing / opening the file.
Readonly means it can only be read / viewed but can not be modified or the modifications can't be saved.
Hidden means that the file is hidden from the ordinary user and is visible only to the system ( this is done for system integrity; lest you not interfere or accidently delete some file which are required for system operation)
Archive is used for a file which is of some importance to user
