I think the courts in the States should make a stand for equality and award Kevin Federline Half of everything Britney Spears owns and will earn over the next 10 years. This is what would happen if the sexes were reversed. Why should equality of the sexes only be shouted by women when it suits them. Equality for men, we've been taken the piss out of for too long now.

I think he should get a good portion of her assests.. not because of the reasons you gave.. but because since she was so stupid to marry him, she deserves a good kick in the 'wallet'.

It's called a PreNup! If the situation were reveresed Britney would get nothing. She's obviously not that smart but leaving him is the smartest thing she did since she made him sign a "water tight" Pre Nup agreement. They mean nothing inthe UK, not worth the paper they are written on but in the US and Canada if you have a Pre Nup, those are the terms of your divorce. Apparently he's asked for $16m and the Pre Nup limits him to $2m - let's face it, he hasn't done anything to earn that cash he deserves nothing.

I believe everyone in a relationship break up should walk away with what they had when they walked in. Any assets purchased together during the union should be split 50/50. Then a separate arrangement agreed by both parties and their lawyers for the financial care of any children involved.

He USED her!!!
He should have to pay her child support and only be allowed to see them once every three months. I hate her fat dorito butt too, but he is a dog with no talent...so I guess he does need the money, huh?

hehehe

Oh! and yes there is a pre-nup. He might get a pre-agreed 300,000 or was it 30,000? it's not much anyway. But his cheap cruel player will probably use emotional distress(he didn't see this coming) and custody issues to leach more money out of her.

He's a great Dad, look how much time he spends with his first to kids.

Maybe you're right although I think he would only be entitled to claim half of whatever she has earned whilst they have been married and as she hasn't really worked in that time, it might not be as much as one would think.

Anyway, after her first marriage I think her lawyers were pretty quick about getting the pre-nup in before she married this time so that will apply if there is one as these are legal in US.

I don't think ANYONE is entitled to HALF when they get divorced if EITHER party was totally rich and the other wasn't when they married. Now, I can see splitting up the $$$ that was earned DURING the marriage, but anything earned before should be kept by the party that earned it.

Just my opinion.

He will... sort of... he'll get half of everything they earned "while" they were married... Which probably won't amount to much since Britney was having babies most of that time and not working... But that's the way the cookie crumbles... and there's no way any judge will grant him alimony... Karen B's answer was really good...

It depends on who gets custody of the kids. They've been married for such a short time, that I don't see why he should get anything for himself. Very few women do, by the way. Unless they've been married for ages.
However, if he gets custody of the children, then he should get something.
But of course, he did sign that pre-nuptial contract, so this is probably totally immaterial.

Not if she signed the same prnup it wouldn't. He gets what he agreed to when they married. You should marry for love, and not think about what your going to get later on. He signed a prenup, no one MADE him, he agreed. So when you marry a millionaire, and are nothing but a bum, you can't take everything. Stupid f*cking question

he signed a pre-nup ... he won't get anything ... and why should anyone profit from someone when they didn't do anything to earn it ... kfed spent a lot of her money while they were together, i didn't see him out there trying to get a job and support her ... the whole relationship seemed like he was taking and she was giving, he's a poor example to use my friend ... how about using someone like ryan phillipe who actually has a job and helped with the kids ...
