They were limited to "happy holidays" last year, but so many people boycotted walmart because of this because it seemed like they were shunning Christmas, i think its about time they realized that 80% if the American population was Christian, what do you think?

why should i and MOST Americans be ashamed and have to feel we need to hide our most respected holiday so that we don't "offend" others? i don't know many jewish or buddhist have been offended by Merry Christmas, hell many of them celebrate it!

That's great but it doesn't make Walmart this nice company. They're obviously just doing what it takes to get the dollars at Christmas.

HERE YOU ARE, YOU'RE HEART ALL WARM ABOUT SAYING MERRY CHRISTMAS BECAUSE YOU'RE GLAD THEY'RE KEEPING CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS YET YOU CALL ME STUPID. THAT'S VERY LAME.

I believe that if they can say Merry Christmas, they should also include other religious celebrations to include others. It would be grossly unfair to ignore minorities. I suppose it is open to the store itself and the employees, but how would Walmart react if 20% of their customers refused to come because they were insulted? Being part of that other 20% you mention, I don't mind it so much, but some people do. Anyway, a big company like Walmart has to tread carefully to avoid loosing customers. They've already made a few big mistakes. All in all, if I wanted religious statements from Christianity, I'd go to church (which I don't). Keep religion in the churches and out of politics, law and commerce.

I am Jewish, and I don't like it at all being wished a Merry Chri*tmas. For those of you who are Chris*tin how would you feel if I wished you a Happy Hanukkah in every store you shopped in for a month? I am sure you wouldn't enjoy having another religion being pushed upon you. I just don't like having your religion pushed upon me. I am an observant Jew, I won't even write the full name of the holiday out as it is against my beliefs to write the name of a false profit. So imagine how I feel being told to have a good Chris*mas several times a day? For thousands of years Jews have been pressured into not being Jews, and it is shame that non Jews can't accept that Jews just want to be left alone and do not want to be pressured into switching religions.

As per your statement that 80% of the American population is Chris*ian, you are mistaken. The Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Anesthetist, and Agnostic population of the US is well over 20%. Even with a large percentage of people who celebrate the holiday, the greeting should not be used towards people who are not Chri*an, many of us find it offensive.

Oh yeah Walmart's sales were really down last Christmas due to the boycotts. Get real.

Only being allowed to say "Happy Holidays" is a good business practice. It includes ALL people that come in their store, not just you as a Christian.

Personally I think its great. the holiday is Christmas and so thats what should be celebrated. if it offends people then thats too bad for them. If they dont want to celebrate Christmas then fine...thats not my business, but dont go trying to change the holiday I do celebrate just becasue others dont. When I was in high school the Jewish kids had certain days off for Jewish holidays but did the rest of us take the day off too?...no because its their holiday not ours.

I think it's about time the human race stopped trying to be so uptight about everything. Every time I go anywhere I see "is it politically correct to say this?" "is this offensive to ...?" And it's something so innocent and friendly as wishing someone a Merry Christmas! What is the world coming to...

Contrary to popular belief, the Constitution protects the minority from the whim of the majority. Such is life in America.

How about you? What will you do to protect the rights of the minority? (The Americans who are Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Atheist...)

If you are Christian:
First put Christ *within* you, then love *outwardly*. Your goal as a Christian is to conquer not with words, but with deeds --- works of love.

And these non-Christians --- will you not love them? It is easy to love those whom we *find lovable*, but how about those whom we find difficult to love? For if we love some but not all, then we do not love at all.

Forget politics and society,
Simply Love.

Merry Christmas ;-)
