I've noticed that when an affair happens the women are usually being labeled as the "homewrecker" and for being the guilty party for destroying a marriage. Now what I don't understand isn't the marriage already destroyed.
No I'm not having an affair so be gentle...LOL

Its because we live in a society that was founded and is guided by nothing but men assuming father figure roles in our lives. Therefore, if a woman knowingly has an affair with a married man, she is assumed by society to be of low moral character.
Its romanticized in movies, books, music, you name it infidelity is America's new fast food craze.
I am of the belief, however, that open and honest communication should guide relationships. If there's a communication breakdown and either a husband or a wife have extra marital affairs without trying to heal the problems in their relationship, not only is the person from the outside of the marriage of low moral character, be they male or female, but also the person IN the marriage has a few problems as well.
If you've pledged yourself to another person, loved them, become their breath when they need air, you should NEVER give up on loving them, and always try to work towards a stronger relationship of trust and mutual love and understanding.
Its a shame that we groom ourselves to just have physical connections with people we find attractive, instead of truly finding someone who can become a life long friend and partner to share everything in our lives with.

The marriage isn't always destroyed before it happens.
Some people just get lost a little along the way. They normally want to be loved again and are not getting it at home, sometimes not often the one cheating just likes the rush from it, they normally only care about themselves.
I don't know why women are considered the home-wreckers because it takes 3 to make it happen.
First you have the married couple going through a bad spot, then you have the other one that comes in & makes it worse.

I don't believe that the woman is blamed in all cases and it certainly takes two to tango but when a woman knows that a man is married but having difficulties in his marriage and takes advantage of that, well then she deserves whatever society throws at her. We all know that in most cases women are the stronger sex. Men definately have their weaknesses which we all know about. ( The little head ruling the big head) and l do believe there are women out there that take advantage of that. I know that it is no excuse and in some cases the women don't know that the men are married but even when they find out they are not prepared to leave the men alone. That is when l believe that they should be called " Home Wreckers" A marriage is not over until both parties agree and everything has been discussed.

women are usually labeled homewreckers by the man's wife, generally because she or husband do not want to take the blame. i agree if a man or woman is going to cheat then the marriage is already destroyed. like why do people call the woman a homewrecker when the majority of the time the man never tells the woman he is married?

In my experience, it depends on the situation. If the woman knew she was dating a married man, then she's considered a homewrecker. If she didn't, she's considered a victim. I've known a few women who actually became really good friends with the "other woman" after all the husband's lies were revealed to both parties and he was out of the picture. But if a woman knows he's married and tries to seduce him, that's quite a bit different.

My take on it would be that the wife does not want to admit her husband would look for something better than what he has at home. To admit that would be to have acknowledge the idea that she might have or not have been doing something to keep him happy enough to stay at home. It's a stupid thought but for some reason women feel deep down it is their responsibility to hold a marriage together and when it fails it's all their fault even when it is something the man has done. Men also have tendency to lay it on pretty thick when they cheat. It's either "If you just would do ________ once in a while I wouldn't have to look elsewhere." or "I don't know what came over me, she just kept hitting on me." The latter scenario is just easier to accept because it alleviates the women's responsibility. Pretty much, it comes down to faulty programing on our parts.

Because women claim to be the stronger sex and when they know a guy is married they will still go for it.
women think that the only thing wrong with the guy is he doesn't have a women who has the platinum loving to fix him
also women will stab another women in the back every time they can

A very good friend of mine has been married four times. He has an eye for the ladys. He gets a good woman and screws it up by fooling around. They don't call him a home wrecker. They call him an SOB LOL.
I know a lot of times if a guy fools around they say he is a ladys man. If it's a woman she is a slut, home wrecker whatever. It doesn't seem fair I know. I have wondered that myself.
