I must admit even though I am well into my late 20's, I never really wore makeup, never had the need. Now that Im getting older I am noticing the bags under my eyes are not going away. Friends have told me to start using concealer but I have no idea how to go about buying the right color. Do you buy a concealer that matches your complextion, Lighter than your complextion or Darker than your complextion? If anybody can point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it. Thanx!

If you can't find one that matches your complexion (which is best) you should get one that is slightly lighter. Never buy a darker shade in any type of face makeup. It's harder to blend, doesn't look as natural, and can make the spots you are trying to cover up more noticeable.
For your eyes, try a yellow concealer under a shade that matches your skin tone. The yellow will neutralize the blue in the dark circles, so you won't look like you have bags anymore.
A really good brand to try is Physicians Formula. They have a 2-in-1 concealer that comes with both the yellow for the blue, and a regular color to match your skin tone that will work for your eyes. Plus, it's a great inexpensive brand that can be found at most stores.

Maybe I'm confused here, but let's give this a go anyway... I'm going to assume that you are looking for a way to reduce the appearance of "bags" under your eyes, and not dark circles, which is what concealer would help with. Concealers are for correcting skin-discolorations, unless it says specifically that it has ingredients to help w/ puffiness, bags, etc... But generally when using concealer, most pple should use a concealer that either matches or is 1 shade light than thier natural skin tone. Green tinted concealers cover red blotchy spots, & yellow covers brown spots.
Now for reducing the size and appearance of bags under the eyes:
First and foremost, make sure your body is getting enough sleep and is properly hydrated. A night out drinking with the girls gets to be less tolerable for our bodies as we get older. So anytime you have a few alcoholic drinks make sure to compensate for it later.
Ofcourse we're all familiar w/ the cucumber slices and now there are many products on the market that have cucumber extracts in them.
Tea bags have been shown to be effective in reducing bags. You just rest them on your eyes the same way you would cucumber slices; make sure the bags have cooled first . :)
Today's supermodels tell us that Nothing is better for reducing the size of eye baggies than Preparation H. ...that's right , I said it. It is actually made to "shrink" skin tissue, so I can see how this would work.
There are literaly hundreds of products on the market for this very problem, and they greatly vary in price and effectiveness, but I would suggest getting an in-expensive eye-gel to use daily. Or go to Ebay and find a great deal on a product that is generally more expensive. Avon, Mary Kay, and Elizabeth Arden would be some good ones to try if you've got a little more to spend.
Hope this helps, good luck. :)

You always want a concealer that is lighter than your skin color. If you go darker than your skin color your only going to make your bags look darker. And you don't want to do that.

Concealer needs to be one shade lighter than your complexion and foundation the same shade as your complexion. Concealer is dabbed on before foundation is applied honey.

i wouldn't go with a darker shade. when u go to pick them out dab a bit on your hand and rub it in.. and see how the color matches your skin tone there. if it blends well.. then go with that one.
