1. Irony of Fate (had everything a movie of such genre can possibly hope for) 2. Sibiriada (mini series - starts of slow but very moving) 3. The Man from Earth (a 6000 year old cro-magnon man reveals his secret, but nobody believes him. ) 4. The Italian (story of adoption of an orphan) 5. Das Boot (5 hour version - the last hour of the movie is very powerful. it's about a German u-boat crew) 6. Tihij Don (mini series, it has a very slow pace but the end moved me) Notable mentions: Brat, The Island (2006), Brigada (mini series) and Barber of Siberia.
