Pregnant women should take a multivitamin tablet but be sure to get ones that are specifically designed for pregnant women.
They are called prenatal vitamin pills are there are several varieties of them. Ask your doctor or pharmacist to recommend one.
If you are thinking about getting pregnant or are pregnant, you need enough folic acid in your system for the healthy development of your baby. Prenatal vitamins ensure that you are getting enough, as well as calcium and other important vitamins and minerals.
I'm taking Centrum Materna and I'm 5 weeks along. Good luck to you!

If you are interested in taking a multivitamin, take a prenatal vitamin instead. It's pretty much the same, except it has more of things that are essential to pregnant women and their developing babies.

Pre-natal vitamins are very important. The only side effect I know of is a healthier pregnancy and baby. Good luck.

at first i couldn't keep my prenatal vitamins down. They made me very sick, so instead, cause I know I need extra vitamins in me, I was taking Centrum and Folic Acid. Now my stomach has settled and I am taking the prenatal vitamins, but i also take my extra folic acid. The doctor said that was totally fine.

you are able to take it, yet i could supplement with ingredients severe in folic acid. What did your ob/gyn say? There are over the counter prenatal supplements which you would be able to take. the version between ordinary supplements and prenatals is the content textile of supplements. The ordinary don't have adequate of particular supplements that a pregnant lady desires. i could recommend taking prenatals.

a prenatal vitamin is better.
check with ur doc.
vitamin a in particular can cause birth defects while folic acid prevents birth defects of the neural tube. also u might need extra calcium and iron.
i had morning sickness in the 1st trimester so i only took 5mg folic acid. i started on my prenatal vit only after that.

Multi-vitamins are fine to take during your pregnancy, but the best is Stuart's Pre-Natal Vitamins. These vitamins will provide more than your average multi-vitamin and are even great to take when you are not pregnant!

Don't take any medications that are not prescribed by your doctor. He/she will probably be happy for you to take prenatal vitamins but be sure he/she tells you which ones to take.

instead of that i would try taking prenatal vitamins, always check with your doctor before taking something. because there could be high doses of stuff in it that could hurt your baby.
