Weird question. Consider that water can hold a lot more pollutants in suspension than air can. So all the stuff that might be in the air will end up in the water eventually after falling onto the ground and being washed into the seas. So I be the air is cleaner. Just an educated guess.

All depends on where you go, some places the water's cleaner than the air, some place the air's cleaner than water. Then you get those places where both are the same.

I'd have to go with water.....too much air pollution nowadays with cars, factories etc... Water can be filtered. To be more on the safe side, a bottle of water is surely cleaner than air :>

Air is cleaner around here. The sewer from homes goes right into the creeks and rivers here. You can't even eat the fish from the rivers. Why I saw a carp trying to walk on land just to get away from the river.

Air. Both are filled with pollutants, but everything ends up in our water. The clouds filter out the pollutants and then it becomes part of the rain/snow which in turn becomes water.

I am not sure, they are both polluted now. I would say water though because there are organisms in the water that eat bacteria and stuff and not really anything in the air that does that.
