Definitely try PuzzlePirates.com, sounds like this is something you would enjoy. It's free or you can do subscription.
There are 5 oceans (considered like worlds in other games) and 2 of those oceans are "subscriber" oceans where there's very limited play, but if you play on Sage, Hunter or Veridian oceans......those are all free unless you REALLY want to spend real money, but it's totally not necessary. I would recommend joining either Sage or Hunter oceans.
On the sign on screen there's a drop down menu list of the 5 oceans, pick one to start on and you're all set. :)

If you like animated then Maplestory, Runescape and Ragnarock.
If you like mature games (You have to play with a cd or install it) World of Warcaft, Oblivion, Halo 1 and 2, UT 2004, Quake 4, Lineage 4 and thats all I know.

Heres a good online RPG game. Its a multiplayer game too.
Its called Zeus' Legacy.
Free,fun,worthwhile,and non-download.

IF it comes to awsome 3D shooting then play Gunz:The Duel (use both of Iinternational and North America).
IF 2D(thinking and monsters),Then go type Mu online at google.

try a yahoo search for "Well Of Souls". This is an alternative to Runescape since Runescape is so slow.
