I think "being wrong" is hard for all people to admit and some people harder than others. Some people would rather fight and even die than to admit they have made a mistake.
It seems to me most Republicans are in favor of fighting their way to the top instead of being patient and "evolving" there. A caterpiller can try to crawl his way to the top of a mountian or wait a while and fly there. I consider Republicans caterpillars and Democrats like butterflies who wait their turn to evolve into what will eventually happen anyway.
Yes Democrats are less militaristic and more patient than Republicans and Republicans try to make that sound like a bad thing. Its not that Democrats "cut and run" but that they are trying to stop, step back, breath and be open to many possibilities instead of rushing in where fools fear to tread.
When people who rush into things and struggle for instant solutions, they often make mistakes they can not admit to later.
Lets see who raises the highest with their agenda....butterflies or caterpillars...butterflies get wounded wings too if they fly too close to a fire.
Rushing in without clear communication is always a mistake and admitting to mistakes is a hard pill to swallow especially for inherently proud people.

Their Conservative agenda is not a failure its the republicans swinging to far to the right to almost become Mini Franco's, and Pinochet's expanding government and smothering dissent within the republican party and blame democrats for everything instead of working with them. This democrat loss good for the republican now they can rebuild the party on the Goldwater and Regan mold. They will rebuild the party the because they learned their lessons about Bush agenda of secert meetings, and how social Conservatives intolerance of Gays, Hispanics , minorities hurt their image big-time. The libertarian wing of the republican party will have to be rebuilt . New Republican will rely more on Libertarian wing for smaller government, less taxes, less government influence in everyday things to become a factor again bring it back to Goldwater and Reagan mold.

Gee that's funny. I didn't hear any news stories concerning voter fraud, disenfranchisement, hanging chads, etc. with this victory.
Republicans lost with class, which is something you lefties should give a try to. Taking it hard? You people wrote the book on sore losing. Take a look in the mirror and put the tissues away.

Their agenda was not a failure. Their corruption, over spending, domestic inaction and policy in Iraq caused their demise. In otherwords their failure to stick with their agenda was the issue.
The DNC's agenda can not fail....they have none

The election results indicate that the current administration was displeasing to a slim majority of voting Americans.
The premise of your question lacks credibility. Especially since the democrats who were elected tended to be quite conservative.
