As a Texan (and proud of it), I'm glad all my votes went to winners, both Republican and Democrat. However, all this name calling and playground taunting is getting a bit ridiculous. Bush is doing the same thing Clinton did when he faced a Republican majority Congress and the same thing any other president would do under the same circumstances.

I like my Republican Governor. He has made mistakes, just as we all have including anyone reading this answer and EVERYONE in ANY elected office. It's just when we elect someone, we tend to think they should be infallable.

We all need to stop all this nonsense and get on with life. We have a government that WE THE PEOPLE elected, regardless of how anyone thinks any of the people got into office. If WE THE PEOPLE didn't like what decisions were made about the election in 2000, WE THE PEOPLE could probably have done something about it then, but it's too late now. He was re-elected with not only a majority of the Electoral College votes, but also with the majority of the popular vote (higher percentage than other candidates.)

Let's get off the playground and back into the real world!

First if you think the democrats are going to do anything different, you are very mislead, most tend to speak whatever is convenient. Secondly, if someone is ignorant enough to pull our troops out of Iraq before the job is complete and we are attacked on our soil again, it will be under another's watch. Maybe then, when someone with no guts to stand up for what they believe in and changes their opinions like the wind and opens their mouth without thinking, then we'll see exactly what the terrorists who are being kept at bay right now are capable of. Maybe it will be someone you love next time who crumples in a high rise building. Unfortunately the crow that you will be eating will be very painful indeed.

I don't call the Senate by 1 seat and the house by 15 seats that humbling. Many house seats were won by less than 1,000 votes. No big mandate here. It was simply about Iraq, the dems did not offer any plans, ideas or suggestions on any issue.

Unfortunately the President is still the Commander in Chief of our armed forces according to our constitution. This may have little or no effect on the decisions of sending more troops to Iraq,Korea,or the planned assault on the country of Iran which I hope does not take place, they are "talking" right now.

It was good the electorate voted to put brakes on Bush’s ‘stay the course’ dismantling of the US Constitution and destruction of America by the religious and political right-wing.

I don't appreciate the mess he has gotten this country into concerning foreign relations and the lives of our soldiers, but I do find it satisfying that the American people have finally caught on to the kind of leader that Bush is and sent him a message.

Just the sight of it made me want to cartwheels across my living room. The Bush administration has been so power-mad and cocky. They needed a reminder that it is in fact "The People" who ultimately run this country.

I don't "enjoy" it but the American voters have tired of the failed policy of the radicals in the current administration. Maybe we will have a more centered government now.
