If you are going to be returning to breast feeding, make sure to pump (or hand express) during this time that you are not actively breast feeding. This will ensure that your milk supply will remain active.
Once you return to breastfeeding, your baby's milk needs will regulate your body's milk production.
A week is usually not long enough for your milk supply to dry up (although it is different for everyone!), but if you are going to be away from breast feeding for longer than 2 weeks, check with your doctor or lactation consultant for further advice.
Good luck!

Drink a Beer. Beer contains a polysaccharide from barley which can stimulate prolactin secretion and may enhance the production of milk. The polysaccharide is also found in non-alcoholic beer, and the effect on prolactin can also be induced by non-alcoholic beer .
If you want to increase your supply quickly, consider renting a hospital-grade breast pump for a few days, unless you have a good quality double pump at home. The best way to increase your supply is to double pump for 5-10 minutes after you nurse your baby, or a least 8 times in 24 hours. Try to set the pump on maximum unless your nipples are very sore. Most pumps work better on the higher suction settings. Minimum is kind of like the baby sucking in his sleep toward the end of the feeding, and maximum is more like the vigorous sucking he does for the first few minutes of the feeding.

you can do one of two things, go to your doctor and get some pills for it or you can start brestfeeding and bottle supplement til your milk comes in better. i know this because i work with breastfeeding mothers before. its always best to start breastfeeding right away, you wont get enough though to feed your baby but it will be alright if you ive your baby a bottle every now and then til your milk comes back like it should. once your milk comes back then you can breastfeed all the time. but first try your baby at the breast. you can also use a breast pump too get the milk too. it miht take a few days for your milk supply to build up but do not give up. good luck to you.

Let your baby nurse as often and as much as he/she wants. Your body will produce more milk if there is a demand for it. If you are not able to nurse because you have to be away from your baby for work, then invest in a breast pump and pump at work. This will increase your milk supply as well. It won't take long for your body to produce more milk that meets the demands of your baby. Be sure to eat healthy and drink plenty of water, this also helps in milk production. If you have breast feeding problems, contact your local La Leche League or your lactation consultant at the hospital where you gave birth.

I think if you still have milk coming in start expressing either by hand or with a pump (I found a pump worked better for me). Have a picture of your baby nearby this may help stimulate the let down reflex. Don't let it go too long as mine dried up in about a week.
Good Luck!

If you are really wanting to continue to breast feed, get breasts under the hot shower and start to express to keep ducts open, drink plenty of fluids, and eat foods that help enrich the milk, like pastas, and dairy if you are not allergic, then start bub back on the breast, but whatever you do, make sure you continue to give bottle until you are sure your milk flow is back, and that bub is getting enough, until sure make sure you are using good formula and one with vitamins in it etc, but should still have time to start again, only been a week.
Many mums who get unwell, or who have trouble with birth etc, have to stop for a time, so try to express, , begin that under nice hot shower running over breasts , then drink lots of fluids, definately no alcahol, and get bub back on quick, but don,t forget to top up with bottle till definate how much milk you are giving bub and that its nice and healthy.

the more you put your baby on your breast to feed you will start reproducing milk again. You also have to drink something while you are breast feeding. Milk, juice, ect. But like I said, once you start exposing the baby to the breast and you start getting maternal feelings milk will flow back. If not, ask your doctor to prescribe something for you.

Already lots of good advice, pump, express, feed often etc. You can also take the herbal supplement FENUGREEK to help keep your milk supply up. Available at health food stores. Good luck with the nursing!

if you want to increase your breat milk you have the baby suck more often and longer. you will need to suppliment some, but less as time goes on.
You can also get a brest pump and between feedings pump, that will stimulate more milk. Also drink lots more water/

The more that is expressed by baby or by you the more that your body will make. It only takes a couple days to dry up though so get to it!
