Plastic it holds up better. Like for heavy drinks and milk. Plus if the bag gets wet....Your in trouble. I like plastic better.

I prefer paper but they never ask anymore just throw your stuff in plastic bags

Plastic. Easier to carry multiple bags that way, which means fewer trips to the car.

Here's an idea no one thought of...How about cloth bags? such as the ones you can get at health food stores to reuse over and over again. Then you wouldn't need to pollute the earth or kill trees or even worry about recycling any of that stuff:).Burlap works very well for shopping bags:)!
