You have a medical condition called Trichotillomania, also abbreviated to Trichomania -compulsive pulling of hair. Both my grown-up daughters have had it for several years. One tweaks her hair so hard that it falls out, the other pulls out her eyebrows. It is a condition which often is associated with high achievers, if that is any consolation.to you. There are various treatments available. If you type the word in web search you will get further clarification and various remedies. I cannot answer for the remedies as my girls still do it after several years, just as I bite my nails and have not achieved a great deal of success at kicking the habit. Good luck!

Dear Eyelash plucker, I do this too but I stopped for a few weeks & the ends of my eyelashes grew back. It is very hard to quit, people ask why you do it but you have no real answer right?
Anyway, I put eyeliner where my lashes are suppossed to be & nobody notices. Don't think about your lashes & keep yourself busy. I think someone suggested this already but keep a picture of a model with really nice eyelashes with you & look at it when you get the urge. It will make you think," If I pluck my eyelashes then I'll never look decent or pretty." & it's very true. After plucking your eyelashes out you don't look good AT ALL until you let them grow in.

Hmm, I attempt this besides, yet in hardship-free words even as i'm no longer wearing mascara! both advance a sparkling habit like twiddling your hair, or wearing outstanding eye makeup that's vitally smudged in case you initiate touching your eyes / eyelashes so that you already comprehend it will look undesirable the instant you bypass to clutter round with them. in the different case initiate wearing glasses LOL to have a actual barrier between your palms & eyelashes ;)

You should turn your negative habit into a positive !
Get yourself a small bottle of castor oil and a little brush and "play " with your lashes ! They will grow in no time and when you start wearing mascara again get a remover to take it off
but still use the castor oil as a treatment for your " habit ".
Good luck !

i do it too. it got really bad at some point but now i'm i do it occasionally and i really don't know why. but yeah i think it is because of mascara and what i think you should do is too cut your nails as far as you can and keep it short untill you've fully stopped. if you cut u'r nails it'll be harder to pull your eyelashes off so it might slow things down. this is what i'm doing and i'm doing it less often. and also don't put on mascara for that time as well and put on fake eyelashes so it won't look weird. i hope it helps and i hope i stop too!

Do what some nail biters do and wear gloves. Hard to grab a lash with covered fingers. Or, pick up a stylish pair or reading glasses, to try and block your hand from automatically reaching your lashes. Good luck! (my sister did this when she was younger, although hers was just a nervous habit, as she didn't wear mascara, and she eventually grew out of it)

I don't know how to get you to stop....but you are aware that the reason for eyelashes is to keep debris out of your eyes. If you keep doing this eventually you are gonna start getting eye infections.
You have already said it's not attractive......I'm surprised your friends have not said something. Maybe fake ones for the time being will improve the way you look and when you do start letting them grow back...use eye makeup remover.

Wow, that scares me alittle. Cause I pluck my mascara before going to sleep sometimes.
I would suggest you wear fake eyelashes but trim them a little so they look more natural. So then whenever you want to touch your eyelashes you would feel the fake ones and hopefully realize that you shouldn't pluck it.

I think you should go on the website and see if there are any images of what a persons eye lids will look like, if all the eye lashes have gone and also what kind of eye infection, you will be prone to as a result of plucking them as they are there to protect you eyes!

Your habit could be a touch of OCD - are you under a lot of stress? Or you might have an infection. Have it checked-out - doing something practicle about it might be enough to balance the psycology. Take care.
