The amazing thing about this election is that so many went out to vote. That means that neither party let it's extreme factions determine the result. The democrats are no more 'evil' by nature than the republicans are.

From what I hear of the democratic priorities in 2007, they all sound good to me.

No, they gave the dems a chance to atone for their transgressions. Final atonement will be in 2 years, only if they deserve it. At the same time they gave a wake up call to the reps. The people showed they still have some political power left!!

Nope. 50 years would take us back to the Cold War, Jim Crow laws, and McCarthyism. I don't think that either party would be capable of bringing any of that back.

HOT DIGGITY !!!

First intelligent question this week.

Congratulations, and yes, you're just about right.

EXCEPT.

Except, I was a twelve y.o. kid in 1956, and would give my eye teeth to "move back there", not for the physical decline thing, but for the tranquil, simple and peaceful Eisenhower era.

All of which is tantamount to hearing a Sanskrit lecture to most here, sigh.

Good!

That puts us at Kennedy's time or thereabouts, when we were a nation filled with hope and dedication to achieve all that we could.

A faith and belief that our leaders were strong, filling us with an enthusiasm to better ourselves.

Sure. I am hoping I will be proven wrong. Bush is willing to compromise, so am I.
