rulers are the persons elected by the people. India is a democratic country and according to people's voting the rulers are elected and they will rule the country... so the people have to decide about the qualifications and other things of their ruler and elect among the nominated persons.

The basic qualification for any politician should be selfless service to the society and the country. Why are we discussing the benchmark of qualification, when u have seen the quality of people in various houses of india. The Government is of the politicians, by the politicians and for the politicians.

It is not necessary, one needs to be educated to understand and satisfy people's aspirations . Just a good heart is what is needed. A politician does not do everything on his own. He has a team of highly qualified officers to give shape to his thoughts within the frame work of the constitution. Mr.Kamaraj was not an educated man at all. But did he not provide excellent administration. Education may be a plus point to a politican but lack of it is not a minus point at all. But what is very very important in public life is honesty, integrity and selfless attitude. You just can't fine one politican today who has these qualities.

Should be an accomplished Liar, have no self respect, thick skin, total lack of morals, as less education as possible. A few Court cases for criminal offences & prison stints desirable

Because the majority of the people votes in election are uneducated and to be their leder is their choice hence qualification benchmark not required.

some qualification is there , like he must be indian citizen , age is more then 21 etc. but where is education , nobody have dare to add this to indian constitution .
