I believe a small hair clip is in the toilet. My Landlord and I have tried plunging & auguring the toilet. The toilet is flushing, but it isn't fast enough. What should we do now?

you may have to take the toilet out and flip it over because the object may be wedged in side the toilet still. take it from a mother who experienced this. my son flushed a travel size baby powder bottle down the toilet when he was 2. Hope this helps you out!

You say it's in the toilet. Does that mean that it has not made it to the pipes? If this is the case, then why not remove the toilet and try to get the object that way? It will only cost a few dollars for a new wax ring. Make sure you turn off the water to the toilet first though and flush it so all the water is gone from the bowl and tank. You will have a bit of water left, so make sure you have some towels on hand when you remove the toilet, because there will be some water left that spills. If it's in the pipes, you'd better call a plumber. Hope this helps.

the clip could be lodged in the opening on the floor that connects the toilet. You are going to drain the water from the bowl and remove it from the hole connection and then remove the clip and replace the toilet. When you do this be careful not to break the porcelin on the bowl also when you have it off buy a new round gasket for the toilet because once you move the toilet it breaks the seal and the toilet will leak unless you replace the gasket. They can be bought at any hardware store and are very cheap to replace. Good luck

Use Muratic Acid. If the clip is stuck to anything like lime or calcium deposits, the Muratic Acid will eat the deposits freeing the clip and clean out the innerds of the toilet as well. You can find this acid at home stores or swimming pool supply stores. Very toxic, make sure you can open a window or have a vent in the ceiling running. Poor it in the tank and flush several times to get the acid through. It works quickly, just make sure and follow the directions on the bottle.. Good luck

A stick of dynamite should work nicely. If the clog is too far down for a auger, try a running a snake through the clean out port. Just don't let the end of the snake go too far, as it may drop off theend of the pipe where it runs into the sewer. If you do, you may be able to place a few vise grips on the snake, and hook a chain to it to yank it out with a come along or a vehicle. Good luck and have fun!

before removing the toilet try using a shop vac to either suck it out or blow it down.

remove the water first, then put shop vac hose in as far as possible, push a towel around the hose in the toilet, to make it suck better.

If this doesn't work then pull the toilet, but its worth a try,

I have used a shop vac in other drain problems and have had great success, saved alot of time too.

SHUT THE H2O VAVLE OFF TO TOILET. THEN FLUSH IT AGAIN AFTER H2O IS OFF THEN LOOSEN THE BOLTS ATTACHED TO BASE OF TOILET. THERE UNDER THE LITTLE PLASTIC CAPS ON EITHER SIDE OF BASE BOTTOM. THEN ONCE BOLTS ARE DONE PULL TOILET UP AND TAKE YOUR HAND IN BOTTOM TO FISH IT OUT. YOU'LL NEED A WAX RING TO PUT ON BOTTOM OF BASE. AND I DON'T ADVISE THAT YOU SKIP THAT YOU'LL END UP WITH A BIGGER MESS THAN YOU STARTED WITH. AND PUT BACK THE TOILET BACK ON THE PLASTIC RING IN FLOOR MAKE SURE IT'S LEVEL THEN WITH EQUAL PRESSURE TIGHTEN BOLTS BACK DOWN AND TURN H2O BACK ON.

if you have snaked it the clip could have been pushed further in. other than that there may be tree roots clogging it. There are access points in your plumbing that you can open and snake from there. If you have a septic tank there could be other problems.

Dude! its only water in that bowl. Stick your hand in it and pull out the clip. I promise you, nothing will happen to your hand.
