We couldn't move seats and I really wanted to to see the movie, so I kept spraying perfume in the air every couple of minutes. The guy was gross. I have never seen such greasy hair in my life!!

Girl! You did the right thing, no one should go out in public looking or smelling like that!

I definitely would not have sprayed perfume, it just turns you into a stinker too (and agravates allergies and asthma which can turn an unpleasant situation into a life threatening one!). You could have gone to the theatre management before the movie began, explained there were no free seats and his odor was detracting from your enjoyment of the movie. In most theatres if you complain they will refund your $ if not give you a free pass as well so you can see the movie later.

an old dirty chicken farmer went to town one day and took his pet chicken with him. he drove by the movie house and a movie was playing that he wanted to see. he didn't want to leave his pet chicken in the hot car so he stuffed it down his pants and went into the show. it was dark and he sat next to 2 young ladies. one lady said to the other one oh my god, this guy stinks and his penis is hanging out. the other lady said oh well you seen one you have seen them all, not this one said the other lady, its eating my popcorn, old joke

I would complain really LOUDLY about the odious stench. And then I would look at this guy directly and ask him if he too can smell that horrible odor. IF he says he can't then I'd lean over and say "Damn! Its you dude! What the hell happened? Did your secret tell on you or what!!!"

Wait for it to come out on HBO,it is so much more relaxing to have everything to eat at Home and under a controlled atmosphere.

Nobody else around you said anything about the perfume spraying? I would think that would be just as bad.

i usually tell the person i'm with - quite loudly, that way you're telling 'smello' indirectly.
or
ask everyone around you, except the person who smells, if they can smell it they usually all agree and the person who smells gets the message.
in the short term the perfume is the best option and slightly comedy. x

next time get a manager and say you cant stand it the guy next to you stinks and managment should give you tickets to another show. if you dont mind confrintation tell the guy next time. "hey you really stink and your ruining my movie" he will probably knock you out but you got your point across.
i would talk to the manager next time.

Well either put up with the smell or ask for my money back and see another showing.

I would've done the same thing. If you can't move to a different seat, then hose him down with perfume. If he said anything, I'd just tell him the truth. "YOU STINK!!"
