You are not even doing basic research so how do you hope to get a job with them? I'm sure they may have several.
Have you looked at their web site? I agree with Bruce M entirely! However, don't be put off by 'k'. If you can get a job with a local council the pay may not be great but your job would probably be slightly more secure than in the private sector.

I would avoid working for City/County Councils altogether. I spent 7 years working for one, and I hated every second of it. As soon as I walked in on my first day I hated it, and started looking for another job straight away.
