Because of globle warming.
she also has him believeing in alians, He says that she said " out of all the planets in the unaverse, Do u really think we are the only ones?"
MY son loves science but i just don't know if what to do, I tell him not to worry so much at this age,(10) that he is too young to worry about earthquakes, tsunamies, hurricanes, and dieing at 21. Somtimes,he can't sleep at night and there in the day he worries a lot and asks 1000 quetions to our family.
we love the fact that he loves science, we also know that the teacher is a science teacher and that is her jub to teach him about science, but to me i just don't want my son to always be scared that somthing is going to happen where we live.IDK, any advice??
thank u!

Don't think his teacher has the right to say he is gonna die by 21!!! Geez where did this teacher learn her teaching skills!! Tell your son that no-one knows whats gonna happen. Yeh we all should take better care of the enviroment and stuff. I could get run over by a bus rather than get killed by an earthquake etc. No-one knows but no point worrying so much. Enjoy life!

Explain to him that indeed global warming is a threat to the planet, but it is very unlikely that the world will end in 10 years. These things are the opposite of science, these are kind of prophecy-like beliefs. Also tell the teacher that she is creating anxiety, phobiasand stress to the child and ask her not to mention such things and inform the school director. About aliens, also explain that of course statistically it is possible that there are life forms in the universe, but there is no proof and no threat for us. The best way to deal with these things is explain things to your son rationally and maturely, and explain that science has nothing to do with all that, but only with proven physics laws.

Tell him that in the north of England there lives A lab assistant called Barry Gill he is a science genius! Does your son really want to end up like Mr.Gill (who we have a theory that he enslaved by an evil science teacher who we had last year) and he will sort out all these problems!

I would talk with the teacher about this. She sould never be telling your son that he is going to die by the time he is 21, There is no way to truely know what Global warming will do to our planet, and she should not be forcing her beliefs onto her students, if she doesn't change her teachings I would talk with the administrators at your school

This teachers comments are very harsh to the tender ears of any ten year old.
As you say, it's her opinion that global warming will destroy the earth and even though we all know the damage has been done to the ozone, she still needs to take a different approach with her wording.
You should make an appointment to consult with this teacher to voice your concerns, perhaps with the principal present.

The teacher does not need to putting in terms to scare children of that age. You should have a talk with the teacher, and tell her that she is scaring your son. All natural disasters are a part of life but she should not tell him he will dye by 21 because of them, I would be furious if my child was in her class!. Please do something, I bet there are other children in class just like your son!

It sounds to me like her teaching method is inappropriate. Your son is young and impressionable. If it were my child, I'd go to the Principal of the school and discuss this. 10 years old is too young to be hearing about these possibilities, true though they might be, (so is sex, for example). There is LOTS of reality in this life that children are not ready for.

You need to go to the school board and complain about his teacher. No, it is not right for that teacher to tell your son any of that stuff. He is just pushing his beliefs onto his student and it is not right. Go to the principal and the school superintendent.

I think u shud speak to his science teacher, bcoz other knowledge good for him, but saying this dat ur son'll die at age21, dis is something awful, u shud speak to principal for this silly behaviour of dat teacher, and warn him or her.
and u shud speak to ur son also, and tell him peacefully, that he shud not worry about dis kind of stuff.
