well its a very tough task to choose who is the best middle order batsman among those three names. well i guess it will be dravid purely because he has bailed out his team from danger in both oneday and testmatches in comparision to the other two, playing in the middle order.

Dravid is the best of the three due to the following reasons:
1. Dravid is a slow starter and carefully picks up the ball.
2. Ponting tends to bend his back for the first few deliveries and may get an outside edge in those deliveries.
3. Ponting has to get a good start or else he tends to hit and get out. He tends to play across the line and his head will not be in a correct position.
4. Inzamam is a well built player but his weight is a big problem.
5. Inzy hits the ball hard but trie out the lofted shots and thus can get out.
6. Dravid doesn't bother about the balls at the beginning and buids up his innings very well.

I accept that Ponting is a fantastic batsman, aswell as dravid. But for form at the minute in the middle order there are not many better than Mohammed Youssef. Also in terms of test match batting orders, Gilchrist comes in at number 7!! Who wouldnt want him as their number 7!

Dravid because when ever India starts to lose wickets, Dravid is always there for you. he is like our insurance policy. He is the only one who fights back and trys to stay there till the last over. If he is out, then on one can stop India from loosing wickets.

Rahul dravid as he is a technically sound batsman having sound defence, due to which reason he is being called "The Wall" Bowlers have to try hard earn his wicket

I will go with Dravid he is the only one batsman whose record in abroad is better then the home. Ponting play well on the home soil and neighboring countries but he always struggle against the good offspring Check his record agianst harbhajan Singh and Murlidhran

I rate ponting as the number one.Reason to glean out ponting,he is a kind of player who can play as the situation demands.(whether to stay at the wicket or get runs fast). He can play in intense pressure and at any kind pitch (bouncy or dead). On the other hand Inzi is not capable of making runs on bouncy pitches,No doubt he is one of the best players at dead pitches. You can have a glance at its record (cricinfo.com.).Dravid is very handy and technically most sound player in today's cricket. The problem arises when you have to score fast. keeping in mind the above facts , one have to award medal to ponting

no other then Mr. Dravid.coz in Australia or Pakistan they have enough talent at lower down also to control the team.but in India when shewag and sachin falls then trend becomes "u go n ill join u".....so it's dravid who holds his wicket at one end. and because of his talent people calls him Mr. cool , Mr. dependable. n luk his avg. he perform more well outside the sub continent , i.e. on fast tracks where other Indian player get afraid of facing fast attacks.
