my peppers have ben growing for four years every season I'm giving them away because I have to many.I water well once a week, summer up to three times.but if they are in pots I suggest check it twice a week, you don't want it to be wet when you go to water it because they like to be on the dry side before you water. feed once a month or up to three month .depending on the fertilizer.you also don't need to feed it during the winter months.you resume feeding when its in the 70-80's (note)read your plant food instructions carefuly to much can burn your root system. hope I've helped

I work compost into my vegetable garden before planting, and sidedress with fertilizer midseason. Once plants are established (after a week or two) I never water. Plant roots will go deep in search of moisture, which is what you want. In fact, I don't know of anyone here in Maine who waters their vegetable garden. We let Mother Nature take care of that!

Water when the top inch of soil is dry.

Fertilize twice a month with a liquid fert like Miracle Grow. I like osmocote fertilizer. It lasts four months so you would basically fert once in the plant's lifetime.
