Contact citizens advice, and the law society to find a law firm who will offer you a free initial consultation. This area is so complex that you really really do not want to base any actions on the information you get form anonymous people on the internet.

We need a little more information.

Are you both American citizens? Is the child the natural child of both of you? Are you originally from Barbados? How did the child end up in Barbados?

is your husband a citizen of Barbados? if so then you will need a lawyer who deals with custody situation of non-us citizens and most likely will need to legally fight the battle in Barbados

after reading above post and your past post, your husband is a Barbados citizen your son I assume is a Barbados citizen you will have to try to gain visitation rights threw Barbados courts, but at his point USA would have no jurisdiction rights
