People cope with stress in their lives in many different ways. Tina is probably coping with her stress by overeating.
She could however have an undiagnosed medical problem such as an under-active thyroid or poly-cystic ovarian syndrome.
Many overweight women have been victims of sexual abuse within their family and/or have abandonment issues. The weight is a way of protecting themselves.
If only we could all be a little more tolerant and loving towards each other what a great difference that would make in the world.
