I listened to her debut album 'alright stil' and was shocked at the language. I thought she was supposed to be clean cut. But that was just down right disgusting. what do you reckon?

It's because she's young and full of it. Which isn't neccessarily an insult. Most confident young people think they're the bees knees and think that swearing shocks us older (33 - ancient) folks. And, just out of interest, where did you ever get the impression that she was clean cut?????

How come Eminem swears so much? It's the thing to do these days. I'm not defending her because I don't really like her style it's a bit too common and vile for me but still, we shouldn't be fazed out by her.

Well her Father is that awful Keith Allen, the actor currently playing The Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood, and he has always had a rude attitude, so I guess she learnt it from him,

She isn't chav, and she doesn't swear to shock. She is a very clever wordsmith, and her album is great. Anyway, the swear words are edited out on the radio, so if it really offends you, don't bother buying the album. Lily rocks!

Yeah i agree.
The music sounds innocent enough but if you listen properly to the lyrics they are all about life in the mean streets of London.

its the way she's been brought up, Keith Allen has always been potty-mouthed too! There really is no need, but you know I guess she thinks its going to make her appeal to the youth of today! wrong! I agree with goldfish

I agree with Roxanne, she's appealing to the working class. I hear swearing all the time at work, so it doesn't phase me in the slightest. That's what you get for being in the military...

Becuase its freedom of expression. Who ever said she was 'clean-cut' anyway?....You know her dad is Keith Allen right?lol

Freedom of expression = dont like it, dont listen to it.

Personally i like it - gives the music a realness - people swear in real life, she just reflects that fact in the music.

Swearing in music is not a new thing. I did not know anyone was still offended by bad language in 2006 to be honest.
