Lemme answer this for you:-

If you have a pen drive you need to have the following in place:-

1. A big enough Pendrive : I suggest 512MB/1GB if you dont have CD-R

2. USB Port : A USB port is necessary. The best way is to keep poking till you find the right place to insert. (excuse the pun)

3. Installation Disk : The pen drive should be auto installed when you insert the port. If it doesnt you need an Instalation CD to install the driver to run the Pen drive.

4. Use the windows explorer, use Cut, Copy, Paste to transfer the data to your pen drive

5. When you copy the files to another computer you might need another installation.

Its Simple.
Plug it into the USB port* of your PC (or Mac!) and watch the system automatically detect the new device. Take at look at your system drives... a new drive has been created! The operating system can now access your USB Pen Drive just like any ordinary Hard Disk Drive.

Copy across all the files you want to the 'new' drive, wait for the Read/Write LED on the USB Pen Drive to stop flashing then
Right click on the pen drive icon in the system tray and choose 'Remove'. Once message 'safe to remove' comes up, pull the pen drive out.
That's it. Your files are now safely stored on your USB Pen Drive. If you want to copy those files to another PC/Mac, just plug it in the new machine, wait for it to be detected and copy them off again.

NOTE:

If your computer is installed with
Windows xp/nt/2000 then pen drive can be used directly using the following steps.....
Otherwise if u are using windows 98 you need to install a software for detecting your pen drive...

If you are using Windows XP, connect the Pen drive to the USB Port of the computer. In a couple of minutes, Windows will automatically configure the Pen drive with the computer.

Then open My computer and you will find a new Drive listed. Double click on it to open and you can directly access the Pen drive.

All you need to do is to copy and paste the contents from your hard drive on to the Pen drive folder.

Simple!! I guess ;)

when you attach a pen drive, a separate driver colon has been created, that you can find in my computer. So copying anything from your computer (hard drive) to pen driver, just select your file, copy and paste in your pen drive colon.
take care.

it's easy really, just read the help above. as long as the drive is big enough you can copy pretty much anything to it. I'd advise or should i say recommend that you invest in a cdrw though. they are quite cheap now around 20 quid, or go one better and get a dvdrw drive and then you can do the lot!!! :-)
