With hydrochloric acid the equation is:

16HCl + 2KMnO4 = 2KCl + 2MnCl2 + 8H2O + 5Cl2

and with sulphuric acid :-

2KMnO4 + 3H2SO4 = K2SO4 + 2MnSO4 + O2

Potassium Permanganate's formula is... KMnO4 and hydrochloric acid's formula is HCl....

KMnO4 K-potassium,Mn-manganese,O-oxygen. 4 is subscript to Oxygen. In KMnO4, one atom of K and Mn each react with 4 atoms of oxygen.
