Yes it is. The only time you don't have to be truly honest is if your trying to do something special for them such as B-days, Holiday's, or you just want to surprise them. That's the only time things would call for not being honest, but it's only for good reason. Otherwise you should be honest with everything else. Lies and deceit always catch up with the person, even if it's 20 yrs down the road.

Its naive to think that honesty is always best. Maybe it is in a new relationship but after 20 years you will both have done things best kept to yourself.

Yes it is indeed. As the saying goes is true. If there is no honesty it is pointless in carrying out the relationship as the other party gets hurt eventually.

For sure. Honesty is imperative and is linked to respect. Without this honesty there can be no respect for your relationship or the people involved.

No, if you're too honest when she asks if she looks fat, you're in the doghouse. You have to know when to fib. In any relationship always being honest can hurt you. It's just a matter of knowing when not to be honest without being deceitful. For those who don't understand that being deceitful is when your lying to gain something. A promotion, to get married under the guise of being a loving person and your not. being dishonest at times to not hurt someone's feelings is acceptable as long as in the long run they won't be hurt more by you not being honest.

Yes, because if you aren't honest, a day will come when you're ripping mad and you'll retaliate on your mate, and then let out secret lies you told, aiming to hurt them like never before, and trust me, you will. :( Even if you don't like something they are wearing, or something like that, simply saying, "It's nice, but it's not something I particularily like." It's best to always be honest, and it can be done on the nicer end of the scale if you don't want to hurt their feelings. :)

100% COMPLETE HONESTY 100% OF THE TIME..IT'S A WAY OF SHOWING YOUR LOVE, FAITH AND RESPECT OF THEM & THAT YOU TRUST THEM ENOUGH TO GET YOU THROUGH THE GOOD TIMES AS WELL AS THE BAD TIMES. IT SHOWS YOU HAVE COMPLETE FAITH IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP & LIES WOULD ONLY GET IN THE WAY AND CAUSE HEARTACHE LATER ON. IF YOU TRULY LOVE SOMEONE YOU WOULD NEVER DO ANYTHING TO CAUSE THEM HEARTACHE!
