In regards to its SURFACE, we have centuries of mapping it out cartography wise by first explorers and to satellite imagery. So pretty much all of it for the surface, like 100%.

However if you were attempting to include the DEPTHS and SPACE below the surface within the sea I would agree with first answerer in that 1% of that area has been explored.

Now the surface area is small compared with the volume of the oceans. So combining both answers it is very small like 1 to 2 %

More than 98% of the sea is already explored.

The human being know more about space than they do about what's under the ocean surface! Most of the ocean is still a mystery to mankind!
