If a civilization is taught to belive they are all sheep of a higher being...then are we capable of being better than the sheperd?
To be more direct, if we birth a child or paint a picture, than does that make us a God of our own existence?

If I write a novel on my life, isnt that a sacred book of my existence? If I have a child who spreads the wisdom that I have given him, doesnt that make him a prophet of my teachings?

venky77,
When i said that we are all sheep, i was referencing the statement that "We are all Gods sheep" as quoted in the bible and several religious texts. lastly, animals are incapable of creation..they eat each other and screw, that sums up their existence. I dont need to explain the contrast to humans, i think you know well enough.

webcreeper,
We can do so much more than create objects out of thin air. We create emotions, feelings, states of mind which can shape and mold the world for centuries. This to me, is something incomparable to anything in this plane of existence.

lonnie,
I think none are more guilty of trying to search the meaning of everything more than Christians. To answer your question, how can something be higher than their creator. The answer is easy, look around you. For example, children, in some respects are stronger than their parents. They are non-judgemental and unjaded by the stress and trauma of modern life. The lowliest of peasants have toppled great nations. This universal truth shows that no proprietor is more perfect than their benefactor and vice-versa.

your question is truely inspiring...not least because you seem like an independent thinker instead of just bluttering what you heard or said like a robot....the kinds of people I usually find:
There are many connotations to your muse...I think I see some...you should tell me your whole mental process and association so I can see it and relate:
.... the universe is in a constant creation process...and we are part of the process...we walk hand in hand with creation..it is natural in mathematics...in iteration...for patterns to arise (definition) out of the indefinite...let us take definition as =creation...
so our minds, conceive possibilities and mold out of our perceptions a creation unto by which others can see (such as an idea, by which then is formalized into the material actual world)....this, makes us creators of our own existance to a certain extent...we can mold the enviroment to the likings of our mind...thus creating our existance..and thus making us gods of our creations...
but there are also other exterior factors...free radicals...out of our control that also affect our lives and our existance--such as other gods (other people who create)
therefore, we are creators and authors of our existance just as much as everyone else...and others can have the same effect...we are in a constant dialogue with nature and other sentient intelligent beings about our creations....making up many possibilities, which we then see play out in the real world.
the ones that we see as better....from the many other gods and authors who also created...we can then perfect our equation to make them more suited to their purpose...which is the purpose of many universal processes.
because as Gods, we are not perfect, and our creations are therefore flawed...therefore it takes dialogue to create and aproach what we all seek: perfection..
the closer we get to this, the closer we get to our original conception of a perfect creator...
our mind...is a cloud of possibilities..through error, we find perfection...and therefore, our mind...is a fertile playground for the mind of god.

I think it's funny how we as people try to not only over power something that we CAN'T over power, but we also try to give everything a meaning. My religion teaches me (Christian) that there is one God. Now, what you believe is entirely up to you. I believe that we are God's prophets. We have a task to do on earth before we can enter our kingdom. We are to live, pass the message of God, keep the love of God fresh, and then we will fulfill a greater destiny. Let me ask you something... How can you be higher than the person who created you? Ur basically trying to step up a step higher than your creator. It's not possible. Even if you believed you got close to God, you only pushed yourself a step back. We are all simply people who were put into the same situation: ''To live life'' that's it. That's what GOD, not man intended. P.S : If u wanna debate, then do it, but I can care less what you personally believe. Thank-you.

Well, no. we can never even begin to compare ourselves to God, even if we invent something. WHY?? because we have not CREATED anything.
you see, we CANNOT CREATE. it is impossible to do so, because we havent got the ability to do so. HOWEVER, we can invent things using the materials God has already CREATED. we can Invent cars, but not out of thin air, but out of metal, rubber, electricity, plastic, or whatever. thses are all things that we got out of God's other creations.
i hope i have explained in the correct way, because i am at the moment too tired and lazy to explain any other religious concepts because i've just spent about an hour or two answering to an insulting email about muslims. he was so ignorantly mis-quoting things from the Qur'an, and ive had to correct him.

if u believe that we all are sheep of a higher being then it is u to decide whether u are capable of becoming a shepherd.
evvery person on earth is capable of thinking that he is noble but it is his own heart which knows how much and what he is?
if u possess all the qualities of a 'SUPER NATURAL'
MORE DIRECT- everybody can do that, even the animals do it.
no , that doesn't mean that u become a God of your own existence.

The Holy Scriptures relay how God instructions his prophets to tell the people, "You tell the gods, who did not create the heavens and the earth that they shall truthfully perish." This alludes to a destiny time wherein people will truthfully resurrect and fall for a similar Lie of the Serpent from the backyard of Eden, "in case you partake of the forbidden fruit you truthfully would be as gods." of course, that's a fantasy of pseudo-godhood this is a precursor to pending destruction of the Human Race.

People who view themselves as God-Like are sociopaths.
Calling our self God if we birth a child is a definite stretch of the word. As humans we have our limits concerning what we can do.
The higher power aka God isn't limited by anything in this physical world or in the spiritual realm.

Is the 'spark' from a fire any different than the fire it came from.
The God that is spoken about in all religions is YOU!. That is why Jesus always prefaced every important statement he made with "I AM"! This is what God Consciousness is all about.
Genesis Ch. 1 vs. 26 .."Let us make man in our own image..."
We are 'individualizations' of "Source". People also need to look in your dictionary for the definition of 'individual'. It is exactly the opposit of what you are programed to believe.
The Word comes from the Latin Root word 'indivisible' ... undivided ...one and the same just like the spark from the fire that it comes from.
Keep asking yourself the question ..Who AM I? I AM IS SOURCE!

yes we are, except i am the one who gave YOU the right to be "God",and there is someone who gave me the right to be "God" over you,and there is someone that gave that someone (who created me ) the right to be a "GOD" over my "God" and it goes on and on..........................
this is crazy
By the way this was i think written on bible if i am sure ,about some peoples who built a big castle to reach on GOD like i am trying to do here, but God punished those peoples by taking their language away from them so they wont communicate, and those peoples killed one another .
here the distruction is to represent how your life is going to misirible while you are trying to find the God.
if your question is only to refer to things we do in this world(the colors we put togather to form something (chair,house,etc.......)then there will be nothing that restrict us from being GOD.
