Staples CAN cause trouble in the machines used to sort and cancel the mail, although it's really not likely - plenty of newsletters and the like are stapled. Tape or staples, however, may render the stamp illegal to use. Use a glue stick - it will not show that you have reaffixed it that way. I assume you know that it is illegal to reuse stamps that have gone through the mail without getting a cancel? It IS legal to remove a stamp from a spoiled envelope and reuse it - if you make a mistake in the address, for example - as long as it has not gone through the mail.

I would not do that.
I have seen the sorting machines and the staple could stick in the machine and tear your letter or even worse it could break the machine and then the mail would be stopped until the machine was fixed.
You could use glue or even "scoth tape". I would think the tape may cause the letter to be spit out but then someone would sort it by hand. Tape causes a reflection and may not be able to be read by the machine.
You realize most things are now done by machines so the envelopes must be clear for the machine to read them.

In the U.S., you can't staple, tape or glue a stamp back onto an envelope. I'm not sure what "royal mail" is, so their rules might be different.

The Royal Mail is no longer the business enterprise it as quickly as replaced into. It has to publish the fee of stamps to proceed to exist. e mail has taken away an astounding sort of it is business enterprise. the known individual interior the united kingdom hates direct mail, yet that's what has stored it afloat for years. The Royal Mail will would desire to alter with the circumstances, or it won't exist as we as quickly as knew it. lots of the super agencies now use courier amenities, so there is so plenty extra opposition obtainable only waiting to snatch the business enterprise. when I order on line, it is continuously a courier business enterprise that supplies it!

I have taped stamps on before. I tape it at the top and bottom leaving the center open so they can cancel it. Never had a problem. m
