throughout history different rules have tried and failed to rule the world, but with globalisation and modern technology do you think its become possible.

It is possible in theory. Of course it probably wouldn't be a very good thing if it did happen. But there would always be opposition to that rule, no matter what. No ruler has ever been popular with 100% of their population. And in current times, there would be a heck of alot of opposition to a singular ruler.

When it happens it will only happen once. Probably through the form of economic power as opposed to military force. A certain book talks about this. Can't think of the name at the moment but I do know it happens to be at the top of the best seller list for the past four hundred years or so.

Yes. The tendency is that big organization buy the smallest one. In the end it will stay only the biggest organizations.
