I'm asking this for a friend of mine....she had a miscarriage when her baby was 5-6 months old (baby born as still birth). Very dramatic and she waited 4 years and now she is pregnant again. Her question is, will her body register this baby as her second pregnancy or first? Thanks

second, just because the child did not survive does not mean she was not pregnat. 5-6 months is a long time to be pregnat and her body has already gone through many common symptoms and experiences that any other pregnat women has gone through.

It won't make a lot of difference either way, but probably her second if it was 6 months along.

Your body just recognizes you're pregnant for the most part. It's the physical act of getting the baby out and scarring from the last one that makes the biggest difference.

It will be her second. Although the first was not carried until full term, it was still a pregnancy.
