As the others have pointed out, go to gsmarena and have a good look at what you want, then demand their best deal. If they won't play then get the PAC code from Voda' and port to someone else. You even keep your number. You will find that better deals on airtime are available if you accept an 18month contract, however 12month contracts are still available. I managed to get a Nokia E61 and a Sony W800i FREE on my last upgrade. They also gave me £90 credit into each account and 500 free text messages per month for each account on top. That was on 18month contracts with O2. How good is that!

Only consider Nokia and Motorola. No offense to the people who said Sony Ericcson but they don't know jack about phones. I compared my Motorola with he Sony Ericcson display at the mall and the phones on display showed the antenna as emergency only which basically translates to "No Service" while my phone was full bars. And it wasn't just my phone that was full bars. The lady that was promoting the phones was bad mouthing Sony Ericcson. And its not like they would know about the situation because she wasn't selling phones just promoting them. But, not only are Nokia and Motorola the most reliable, but they are loaded with most features and look cool too. Depends on what you want the phone for but for Nokia I would say any one of the N Series and for Motorola go for any of them frankly. You can go to their site and check out all the models and find one that suits you. I really like the KRZR. Samsung is also good but literally every single person I knew that has owned a Samsung regardless of model, the screen would go bad after a year or two.

The Samsung D900 is meant to be excellent, takes great quality pictures, slim line ("world's slimmest slider phone" apparently), plays MP3s, and has all the bells and whistles you'd expect. (I have just ordered the Samsung E900 instead, it's not quite as good as the D900, but i've chosen that one as there's a pink version it! It also has touch sensitive keys, which some people don't like, but i'll just have to see what it's like when I get it.)
The Sony Ericsson W810 and W850 are "walkman phones" so are a good choice if listening to music on your mobile is a priority.
This is a really good site which gives reviews on mobiles:

well i started of with the s e k800i which is an awsome phone but i found the camera thingy on the back too bulky, and i felt that after a while it would have come of completely as i generally keep the phone in my pocket. so i changed it for the samsung d900 which is a wicked phone also and does exactly as it says on the tin!!! its also lovely and slim and very neat looking! dont be fobbed of by with any old thing by vodafone if your on a contract!

I have been a huge Nokia fan for years now but the recent ones just ain't doing it for me now, i think they are actually going down hill.
I'm starting to sway towards Sony Ericsson now, my husband and brother-in-law both have the latest ones (can't remember which ones) and they haven't stopped raving about them. My hubby's phone gets used constantly for the walkman, games and he never stops texting and calling and he only charges it up maybe once a week or so, the battery life is amazing (my nokia needs charged every other day)
For Kirr45 ... it's the network providers and your location that determine what signal strength you get on your phone, not the phone itself, for example at one end of my house i get full signal and at the other i can get maybe only 1 or 2 bars

You should definately get a t-mobile sidekick 3! It is the coolest phone ever! With it, you have unlimited internet and text messaging. It has a camera, mp3 player, organizer and many more built inside of it. If you want a top of the range phone that works great, get a sidekick 3!

DO NOT accept any phone unless it is a Nokia. Samsung, Sony Erricson and all those others are sh!te love i am telling you. The battry only lasts for all of 7 hours, and that means, buy the time i got to work and had lunch, the battry thingy is flashing saying its empty. Any Nokia will do, like you said its just a phone, but the battries on others are sh!te. So make sure you get a Nokia.
Have a nice day. ",)

you should've mentioned the phone you are using currently, then a good upgrade can be reccommended. as for what phones are top-of-the-range, well you've got the nokias in n93, n73, 7390 and n80 for now. what I'll like to call mid-top range phones are 7373, n70, 3250 e.t.c mid- range nokias are 6131, 3230, 7610, 6680 6230i and the likes. for sony ericsson phones, top-of-range are p990i, w950i, w850i, m600i. mid-top range are the other walkman phones like w810i, w710i, w800i, w700i, w300i while mid-rangers are k750i, w550i, w600i, s700i.
the phones i would reccommend are nokia n73, sony ericsson k800i and w710i, motorola l7e (an upgrade of the l7, will be out very soon and i'll put it as a mid-top range phone), samsung d900 (a top range phone). but i strongly reccommend k800i and n73, cheers. i've put some links below to know more about them.

Get the LG white chocolate, it's really good and it should be in most phone shops. The Carphone Warehose is good for buying phones or getting a contract. Or get the Virgin Lobster, you can watch TV on this phone!
