Start with a decent amplifier, 100 watts should suffice, with 100 watt speakers, Wharfedale make great speakers, get oxygen free speaker cable, thicker the better. The rest is easy, CD player. tuner, tape deck, You get what You pay for. Also, the better the auxillary cables, the better the sound.
