She's only a girlfriend, right? Are you afraid of something more than just hurting her? Ask yourself how sure you are; examine all the issues. Be absolutely sure it's the right decision. You must remember, it's next to impossible to take it back.
Even if you're sure, you might want to bide your time until you find another relationship that's stable and good for you. Mean as that is, I believe you have to take care of your own feelings first. You do not want to endure loneliness; it will make you crazy enough to want her back. Trust me, if you act on loneliness and attempt to win her back, you WILL know hell on Earth.

I think you worded it wrong - since your the one wanting to end it - it should say 'it feels like she's not the right one for me' how do I tell her?
If you've lost interest or found another, tell her now, don't play her along - it's not fair. Wouldn't you want to know if she wanted to be with someone other than you? Think how you would feel if things were reversed and act accordingly. Good luck

It will suck either way but I have been that girl more than once and I wish he would have told me before EVERYONE but me knew.

By the time I realized it, he had been dating several other girls. I know I was extremely naive but growing up and dating is learning to become a man. Any girl you would date, deserves your honesty. Don't be "that guy". We don't need any more of those

Tell her I am sorry but its just not working out, if she doesn't run away tell her your great but I just don't think I am the right guy for you. If it gets to heavy after that say we can still be friends or I love you like a sister and bam its done! Get up and walk away, maybe a hug if it permits or something.

The truth. Just tell what you feel. I know, it's easier said than done, but give it a shot.

If you are anything close to being manly, you could try telling her the truth, she might actually respect your honesty.
