Hello, my name is Dami.
I am a 16 year old female that is running out of time. I have a serious weight problem and I need help, i weight 290 ibs and 5'7. Please anyone, I am so unhappy and I cry each and everyday because I want to be healthy, I have tried diet after diet, is there any remedy that could save my life. i sleep everyday until 4 in the evening and stay up until 6 am, I dropped out of highschool 5 months ago and I live in a rural area, I want to get my GED but i must wait until i am 17. I am hurting so so bad, and my family hates me. I am considered "the bad seed" because I constantly make the wrong decisions. It is impossible to explain the way I feel, but please anyone out there I need immediate help. I don't care what it is, I want to lose weight and be happy. I feel that suicide is in my near future because I am a total waste to society, nobody really knows i'm alive. Please help me help myself....Dami

Well if you are for real, there are many many options. Talk to someone about this. You are only 16. There is plenty of time to correct your weight. Suicide is not the answer and it will never resolve anything. Please if this is for real, talk to someone maybe a doctor, someone at your old school.

Hi Dami, some of the advice you have gotten here is ok but you might try posting it under mental health. They may be of more help there. Also, there are a lot of people that weigh what you do or more and still are happy with their life. It's obvious you are depressed. Depression itself can cause weight gain. You can eat one meal a day and not lose weight if you are depressed. If your relationship with your family is that bad I would suggest you go to a teen counseling place and see about getting a new more positive environment. You're mental health is more important than weight loss at this time. You could have a disorder that meds can help you with. Perhaps counseling will help. Just having someone to talk to. Suicide is not something you can take back, once it's done it's done. I sincerely doubt you are a waste to society. and you are to young to be a bad seed. Making wrong decisions at your age is normal. You're young you are entitled to make mistakes. also skinny people commit suicide too. work on your head first and the rest will follow. Get involved in a church talk to a paster get into a youth group.

Hi Dami

Shame girl sounds like youre really depressed and im sorry to hear that.

Right first things frist, how often are you eating? Are you eating junk food because youre depressed?

If you want to loose weight STOP DIETING youre too young to be dieting and it can cause hectic damage.

You need to eat little and often (7 SMALL) meals a day, make sure what you eat is in moderation.

Start doing exercises, if your not fit, start walking around the block for two weeks until you can do it without loosing your breath or stopping, then walk around two blocks for two weeks and so on and so on.

Get your body back into its regular sleeping pattern for yourself to go to bed at say 12.00am to start off with and then go backwards round the clock till your going to bed at 9 and waking up a 6.

Your family dont hate you maybe they are concerned with your health and happiness but dont know how to bring up the subject. Sit your family down and speak to them tell them how youre feeling, if you dont how will they know???

Suicide is not an option at all. Its the easy way out of things, work at being a better, stronger person, give yourself goals and a time frame and complete them. If you commit suicide your a coward.

You are a apecial person to someone and you may not even know it. Your so young give life a chance see what treasures it has to offer you.

You know, the first thing that i can advice you with is this, NO DEPRESSION, NO SUICIDE, NOTHING OF THAT KIND, ONLY HAPPY THOUGHTS. If you are so depressed go and buy a volume of CD's called Tony Robbins. He is someone you can ask. Secondly it is very easy to loose weight, no dieting, all you have to do is control, three meals a day, not heavy meals, decent meals. Then you need to walk for atleast 1.5-2 hours everday, start stretching, burning your stomach fat. nothing complicated. At the same time listen to tony Robbins. If nothing works send an email to Dr. Phil or Oprah or someone like that, try to do that and they will do something about it, help you, and i am not joking. I have a weight issue as well, i try to control my diet and do the same thing i said. It is balance in likfe that will help you, balance of food, work, excersize, education, communication, and no depression, and so suicide what so ever. You could do it, and you could be helpful again. Another good thing, you said you did not help community, well if really want to, and if you do not want to walk, go around your community, wherver and start picking up trash with your hands, do not use any other device, that will make you bend over, excersize and walking. you really need to start this stuff, and as long as you do that and set a goal, you will win. And i definetly listened to Tony Robbins. He got overweight by 40 llbs and lost all of it, and he was in a depressing mode and everything. You just have to believe, and pls no suicide or derpression, because that will kill you. Happy thoguhts and goals is what will help you.

It's so sad, Dami. Don't think negative way like that. Every person has his/her function in the life even he/she has not realized.

You said that you live in rural area. I think a lot of vegetables and fruits at there. How if you change your eat attitude/practice with only eat 2 or 3 times a day, with 3/4 portion of vegetables and fruits and rice/bread + fish/meat at the left. Don't take snacks or soft drinks, just pure juice from fruits. Take a chance to have jogging or other sports everyday. And keep active with helping your parents/family and doing others those make you more useful for others.

I think it's better for you. So keep try and good luck.

I have a weight problem too, and I just joined in a class to lose 20 lbs. in 7 weeks. It does cost money to do something like this but it really helps with self-esteem. It is only women where i go so you don't have to worry about guys looking at you. Have you talked to your family or doctor about gastric by-pass or a similar surgery to jump start your weight loss and make it more manageable for you to lose? Maybe if you talked to them seriously about wanting to better yourself and feel good about yourself and do something with your life they would support you in it.

The Dr. Phil idea from above might seriously work also.
And I agree with seeing a counselor and maybe they could help you find a trainer or someone to help you stay on track.

You have your whole life ahead of you. High school and being 16 seems so difficult while you are going through it but one day you will look back on it and laugh and you will be a stronger person for going through what you are going through right now.

There is no quick remedy and you have to set lots of small goals to ultimately reach the final goal. I have read lots of success stories on weight loss and these feelings are common. You must begin to take measures to change your lifestyle for good. Smaller portions and exercise - just 30 mins walk a day will speed the metabolism. You will begin to have more self-esteem and your sunken feelings will lift. This will encourage those around you to take more notice and you will feel more energetic in mind, body and soul. You are going through an awkward stage in life. I would recommend talking to someone who can help you like a counselor who can help you with your feelings. It is very important to start feeling positive with yourself before you do anything bad. ((hugs))

Get a counsellor or professional help, if not get a friend who is willing to understand and talk to you. You sound more like a teenager, right /wrong are relative to persons perpective and lookout so dont worry too much about "wrong" decisions.
If you dont have any friends send me a mail and will try to guide you. You need to talk to some mature adults sounds like your family isnt helping you, or you are just being nasty.
Losing weight is pretty simple , if you really want to do it, depression makes it complicated. Get some audio cassetes, like positive thinking,success etc. good ones are available on net. Listen to em as often as you can, dont expect too much from your family/friends but always try to wear a smile and be nice to others.

Life is fun and worth living irrespective of how you look physically etc. , though good looks make it much easier.

Losing weight :
Reduce meat/poultry/cheese/oily high fat food
Eat more veggies/rice/beans (preferably boiled)
Sleep and eat regularly at regular hours.
Early morning after you brush your teeth try to drink as much water as you can (at least 1 big glass, with lime juice if you like it no sugar/salt)
Then try taking a brisk walk for 30-45 minutes (after drinking water)
Read lots of good books, go more often to the library.
Listen to positive audio cassetes/cd's
Play tennis/gootball/ whatever games you like.
Avoid giving advice or making other peoples decisions,
If you take a decision for yourself thats ok dont bother about thinking whether its right/wrong, just accept the result as outcome.

Dami, ther are lots of options. Calm down. It may seem that the world is going to end ,but it isnt.Trust Me. I am a single mother living with an inoperable brain tumor. If I can get up every day ,so can you.You said you had a family? Talk to them. You know they dont hate you, they get mad at you, but they dont hate you. Grow up and think of a game plan. YOU CAN DO THIS!

ur familly luvs u dats y they r hurt by ur actions
u need to start checking ur diet n wat u eat
dis i show i went aba myne
i made sure i stopped eatin in btn meals
i also eat alot of fruits n vegetables
i do 50sit ups everyday
i eat only wen am hungry
n i eat nt to be full bt just know i ve food to carry me thru the dae
u need to start appreciatin urself n nt cussin ur self dat ur no gud
