No Nuke was needed or ever will be needed.
What was needed was the guts and the balls to officially declare
war on those buggers, instead of sending thousands of our young to be maimed for life, die, then discrasse them when they did not come home in a body bag.

No, if we had used nukes, the Chinese and the Russians would have jumped in with nukes. Today you would live in a place like Mad Max, without Mel Gibson to help you out.

The answer is no.

The Vietcong used hidden underground tunnels and bases to wage its war.

There was no single location that could have been bombed to put an end to their army.

The difference with the Japanese was a visible capital that could be defeated to stop their army.

The Vietcong fought a guerilla war where they had no visible stronghold.
