this is possibly the best slang phrase going around right now... well it's a bit outdated actually, but still hilarious. Basically, when something "floats your boat" it makes you exceedingly happy or at least pleased. The phrase is derived from the former "man in the boat" which refers to the sexual intercourse of a man and a woman, the clitoris or vagina being the boat. So if your boat is floating, that's a pretty good thing. I know this sounds nasty, but hey, whatever floats your boat!
