Besides clubs and nightspots, there are lots of places which you can see in Singapore. It really depands on your area of interest.
you can try:
1) taking a boat ride (off 'Changi Point') to 'Pulau Ubin'. It is an off-shore Island with lots of natural sights (beaches n forest)..it should costs $2 one way per person. Once there you can rent a bike and cycle around the whole island.
2) visit the different housing areas (e.g. Toa Payoh, Ang Mo Kio, Bishan) and see how Singaporeans live. There places are accessible by Mass Rapid Transport (MRT / Subway). Don't forget to visit the 'Community Clubs' (commonly known as C.C.)in these areas.
3) visit 'Botanical Gardens', 'Merlion Park' and 'Fort Canning Park', it is free.
4) visit places like 'Little India', 'Geylang Seri' (Malay Village) and 'Chinatown'.
5) visit the places of worship (e.g. Temples, Mosque, Churches).
Cheers...n have a nice trip....

Singapore used to be fun, but has become incredibly sterile over the past few years.
Try going in the cable car to Sentosa (Get the cable car from the world trade centre building). There are beaches and stuff over there which are really quiet.
Or there are loads of yacht clubs, ex-patriate clubs etc.
You can also go ski-ing in Singapore now - on snow. There is an indoor ski slope but not sure what it costs.
Food - go to the hawker centres where the locals eat and I really recommend chicken satay. It is really cheap to eat there but not much fun.
The weather is also not brilliant for a lot of the time. Hot, but very humid and often cloudy.
Have fun! It is a bloody long flight too - 12 hours.
:-)

If you're interested in visiting the different temples, they are free in and some are very colourful and pretty. You can meet nice people there too, but always ask before taking a photo or sitting down etc. They have different rules. You could visit Raffles and not have a drink if you're on a budget or charm some rich person into buying you one. Shopping is great there and you can bargain. Sentosa Island is accessed by cable car from the world trade centre. It is not too expensive and there are lots of places to visit there. there are plenty of fast foods for cheap eating.have a great time.

Orchard Road for shopping, Muhammad Sultan, Clarke Quay and Boat Quay for drinking, Newton Circus and East Coast for seafood.Oh,and Sentosa for beach and suntanning. Singapore is lovely, clean, safe, people over here speak English as their main language also. Its pretty small though, go to all the place that i mentioned above, you wont regret it.
Have a good holiday lad..

Go to Lau Pa Sat, Bugis Temple, Haw Par Villa, Botanical Gardens, Bugis Village, Holland Village, Sight-seeing in the City area by free shuttle. Going to these places needs no entrance fees. Shop in the suburbs, exotic items for sale there, not expensive.

Go try out the fantastic foodfare in Singapore. A popular place will be "Newton Circus Food Centre" where many people go. Sample the "satay" (grilled meat on bamboo skewers), "hanian chicken rice", etc. Check out sentosa island (beaches). everything is affordable.

Moonchild wrote some good ideas. And I would add that you could go to the night safari and visit the Malay Heritage Museum.
Plus it is fun to do the boat tour.
